Free Post-Traumatic Parenting Summit!

So many parents that I talk to these days are carrying a great burden of stress. A recent study by the Pew Foundation found that the majority of parents report feeling stressed, and that parenting is much harder than they expected. These are not easy times. Many parents have come into this stressful time with the weight of trauma from childhood or other events in their life. As many as one in five parents may be contending with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) which while greatly debilitating, is also highly treatable. But can we just pause for a second and recognize how challenging this is—while doing all the other tasks of parenting—schooling, feeding and loving— many parents are trying to bring their calm when their nervous system is in alarm mode. This is a daily reality for many.

Parenting while healing from trauma is a whole different ball game. But I’m excited to share with you some new resources to help.

I recently had the opportunity to participate in an on-line conversation with clinical psychologist and author Dr. Robyn Koslowitz, author of the forthcoming book: Post-Traumatic Parenting, which is a compassionate and practical guide to how to parent while working through your own trauma journey. To introduce the deep wisdom of her book and more, Robyn has created a free, online event (May 26–28) which brings together 15+ experts to talk about the realities of raising kids while breaking cycles, managing triggers, and finding your way through it all.

My session dives into Empowering Post-Traumatic Parents: Tools and Strategies for Supporting Anxious Children.

The Summit is free to attend, and there’s also an upgrade option for live VIP masterclasses each night. Robyn’s book, Post-Traumatic Parenting, is coming out this July—and you can preorder it now.

This is one of those rare spaces where you don’t have to explain the weight you’re carrying. You’re just understood.
