Dr. Chansky, a licensed psychologist, is the Founder of the Children’s and Adult Center for OCD and Anxiety in Plymouth Meeting, PA. She is the author of numerous books on anxiety and negative thinking including the popular Freeing Yourself from Anxiety Series: Freeing Your Child From Anxiety, Freeing Your Child from Negative Thinking, and Freeing Your Child From Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Dr. Chansky is the creator of the educational website: worrywisekids.org. Her book for adults, Freeing Yourself from Anxiety: 4 Simple Steps to Overcome Worry and Create the Life You Want is for anyone suffering from everyday worry, an anxiety disorder or depression or wanting to prevent those thinking patterns from taking hold.
Dr. Chansky earned her Ph.D. from Temple University and completed her internship training at The Institute of Pennsylvania Hospital. She received a Master’s in Education from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. with distinction in psychology from Swarthmore College.
Dr. Chansky has devoted her professional life to helping children, teens, parents and adults overcome unnecessary worry and negative thinking through a new understanding of the nuts and bolts of how the brain works. She frequently conducts trainings for professionals, and the general public about creative anxiety management techniques; changing the anxiety conversation in our minds and in so doing changing our relationship with worry. Dr. Chansky sees this process as a collaborative experience. The more that we free ourselves from anxiety, the better position we are to help free others, too.
